Dear Parents and Students:
Welcome back to the Thomson Elementary School. I hope this letter finds you well and enjoying a relaxing summer. I am truly looking forward to joining all of you this year. This letter is to inform everyone of IMPORTANT DATES AND CHANGES that will take place at the Thomson Elementary School this year. Wednesday, September 3rd: First Day of School (Full Day) – Grades 1 through 5 Thursday, September 4th *Orientation for Kindergarten – Thomson Cafeteria (9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. only!) *On this date , please bring supplies, also a FULL change of clothes for your child (including socks & underwear) in a large ziploc bag with your child’s name on it. Friday, September 5th: First Day of School – Kindergarten *(For students attending the FULL DAY PROGRAM, please remember to send your child with a snack/lunch or money to purchase lunch ($2.25. ) FOR THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL ONLY, ALL KINDERGARTEN PARENTS AND STUDENTS ARE INVITED TO MEET IN THE CAFETERIA AT 8:10 A.M! OPEN HOUSE DATES Tuesday, September 16th Wednesday, September 17th 6:00 p.m. Kindergarten 6:00 p.m. Grade 3 6:50 p.m. Grade 1 6:50 p.m. Grade 4 7:40 p.m. Grade 2 7:40 p.m. Grade 5 This year also brings a change to our starting time. Please refer to the following information: 8:10 – 8:25 a.m. – Students arrive to school and gather on the playground. 8:35 a.m. – Official start of the school day. All students are expected to be in their classrooms and ready to start the school day. If a child is entering the school building at 8:35 a.m. or later, they are considered tardy and need to be accompanied by an adult to the office. 3:00 p.m. – New Dismissal time Thank you everyone for your assistance and enjoy the rest of the summer.
