Self-Regulation/Social Skills Group (Students entering grades 1 & 2)

Time: 8:30-9:15

Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

July 5, 2021- July 22, 2021

Location: Thomson Elementary School

This 3-week, 9 session counseling group will teach students to identify their emotions, self-regulate, be mindful, and develop self-control and self-esteem. Students will learn self-management techniques to control impulsive behavior and develop positive social interactions with their peers. Through the use of stories, short videos, and other hands-on learning activities, students will have FUN while learning valuable social emotional skills!

Worry Warriors: Anxiety Group (Students entering grades 3-5)

Time: 9:30-10:15

Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

July 5, 2021- July 22, 2021

Location: Thomson Elementary School

This 3-week, 9 session counseling group will teach students what a worry is, how worries can affect the body, and how to manage their worries by practicing in the moment coping strategies such as, grounding, controlled breathing, thought checking, and more. Through the use of stories, short videos, and other hands-on learning activities, students will have FUN while learning valuable social emotional skills! 

Creating Confidence (Students entering grades 3-5)

Time: 10:30-11:15

Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

July 5, 2021- July 22, 2021

Location: Thomson Elementary School

This 3-week, 9 session counseling group will teach students what self esteem is, how to celebrate their strengths, cope with low self esteem, and build the self esteem of others. Students will learn positive self-talk techniques to control their negative self-talk cycle and learn how our thoughts, feelings, and actions impact one another. Through the use of stories, short videos, and other hands-on learning activities, students will have FUN while learning valuable social emotional skills!
